This October, Kaleidoscope are delighted to present two special late night
events as part of the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival Club.

On Tuesday 4th October, we open our first late night Kaleidoscope of the month
with a performance by one of Ireland's finest young cellists, UK based Ben Cashell.
Ben will be winging his way to the Odessa Club for the evening to perform a
selection of movements from J.S Bach, Suite No.4 for Solo Violoncello in Eflat
Major, BWV 1010 followed by his own interpretation of the song 'To Build a Home'
by the Cinematic Orchestra. Next on the menu of musical delicacies is the
charming and delightful Duo for Violin and Viola in G Major K423 by W.A Mozart.
Kaleidoscope co-curator and violinist Cliodhna Ryan will be joined by the associate
principal viola of the National Symphony Orchestra, John Lynch.
Next we will have the rare opportunity to hear one of the first works written for
modern brass instruments, the Sonata for Horn, Trumpet and Trombone by Francis
Poulenc. This will be performed by the combined talents of Cormac O hAodian,
Andrea Vonk, Steven Mathieson. To end the evening we are delighted to welcome
Tarab, an ensemble who create an imaginary link between aesthetic elements of
Mediterranean music and the Irish instrumental and vocal tradition. Tarab will
arrive on stage fresh from their performance of the Rough Magic production of
Peer Gynt as part of the Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival.
Details of our second late night evening in association with Ulster Bank Dublin
Theatre Festival and the Goethe Institute, on Wednesday 12th October will follow
shortly. Featuring works by radical German composers from Bach to Weill, with
performers such as Nick Milne and Julie Feeney, we promise another jewel of an
evening to brighten the darkening nights of autumn.
